Really enjoyed Lil' Willy combo because they used chicken breast rather than just fingers. It was about 1/2 butterflied chicken breast with a large round waffle. I would have preferred the full chicken breast and half the amount of waffles.

Phone disconnected and business " closed for repairs." A posted sign said it will reopen 6-18 but no work was being done. Made a special trip based on reviews. Check before you travel.

The service at Willy's was pretty great, but the food was merely OK. The tater tots also had a strange flavor, possibly because the grease was old? The prices are good, though, and I wouldn't be horribly offended if a friend of mine wanted me to go to Willy's with them - it just wouldn't be my 1st choice.

I think I ate an entire chicken!!! Well let's start there. I heard about this place from numerous people. There was an event "Yelpers break for chicken and waffles" so it was time to go. This place had a nice atmosphere to it. Not too big of an establishment to get lost in but plenty of seating. Food establishments with basic menus are very appealing. You don't have to waste time trying to decide what to get. Very similar to another well known chicken place in town in that sense. Sometimes you find quirky things like a big wooden spool table that add to the appeal. Other things, like pictures of famous people and places on the walls, make it an inviting place. That too is similar to another famous chicken place in town. I wonder if there is some kind of connection there. So the chicken and waffles came for us to eat. Big, thick, Belgium style waffles with all the butter and syrup you could ever need. Now, onto the chicken. Big, JUICY, and crispy chicken breasts and legs. I was amazed at how juicy and yet very tender the chicken came out. It is very easy to overlook fried chicken and dry it out in the process. The cooks at Willy's do a phenomenal job at preparing their bird. Like I said earlier I think I ate, at minimum, a whole chicken and two waffles.

First, let's establish up front that I simply love the combination of chicken and waffles and I have a measuring stick of Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles in ATL. So now it's just a matter of how good can it be made. Willy's lived up to the challenge the chicken was extremely fresh and the waffle was savory with the syrup and the side sauce was really good with the chicken, when I wasn't dipping it in the syrup. In fact, I think the chicken was still steaming when I left. Here is where the one star went and it would have been two stars if I didn't already just simply love the combination. They need to INVEST in some real eating utensils. The meal is served in a basket with a piece of paper between it and the food and they provide you with the plastic fork and knife in a bag. The paper, no matter how much syrup is on it, is not good eats. I eventually ended up eating the waffle and chicken with my hands when my utensils got bent to hell. They have perfected the product now its time to work on presentation. DETAILS MATTER. OH! and they were out of tator tots. That is 1/4 of your menu. Overall I would definitely going back. I may just bring a fork and knife from home. ;-)

I really took a liking to this simple establishment. Both the dark and white fried chicken tasted delicious accompanied with the sweet syrup and creamy butter on top of the fluffy waffles. This place reminded me so much of Raising Canes's on so many levels minus the dog. The complimentary sauce and chicken tasted better plus you can get waffles! Next time I eat there I will try the tater tots.

The service at Willy's was nice. The staff was friendly and nice. The chicken was seasoned very well. The price is not bad for chicken and a waffle. The owner came by to checked to see if everything was fine. I will come back if I'm in the area. The decor needs to be updated with something more modern.

Heaven on earth! This place just gives me a sense of nostalgia. I don't know if it's because it's near my childhood apartment complex near LSU or because of the grape koolaid or a combination of both but I was so excited to see that it was on the drinks choices! Fried chicken and koolaid are southern classics for me. The fried chicken here are better than Popeyes! The batter is so thin that I don't feel guilty eating it. I got the #1 willy's combo(white meat) and when it came out, the breast was humongous and so juicy. The Belgium waffle wasn't warm and crispy as I hoped it would be but the combination were still divine! I think the fried chicken made up for it because it came out hot and crispy! I had to wait a little for it to cool down. I'm salivating thinking about the taste. It's something to crave for. I didn't finish my meal so I took half the waffle and the wing piece to go and had it for breakfast the next morning and it was still yummy! Get the grape koolaid with your meal! Thank me later :D

Yes please, I'm not a fan of fast food.. Not because of health of anything but when I order a bhrger... I want a big juicy hunk of meat or a big delicious piece of chicken, not a sliver but oh my god Willys is delicious, juicy and open late. Willy Which = A+

I stopped in around 1:30 in the afternoon and it was deserted. I ordered a white and dark box, both with waffles, and an order of tots for carry out. Everything was below average to average. The chicken batter was unseasoned and generally "blah." I always compare fried chicken to Church's and in this case Willy's didn't even show up. Overall, staff was great, service was quick, it's a nice & clean atmosphere, but pricepoints were a little high. . . . IMO they give me no reason to return.

Delish but took a long time to get then food. If I ever god back, I would try the willy sandwich. It looks tasty and inventive. I got the #4 which was great and my husband got the #1. Personally I liked the #4 better because of the meat. It was like chicken tenders with a check breast meat. YUM! I wish I could eat it again right now. Too bad I just flew back home to California.

Don't be fooled by the funky exterior, the fried chicken here is amazing! I've never been a big fan of chicken & waffles but Willie's just changed my mind and outlook on this entree. Add some of the Jazzy seasoning that's on the table onto your chicken and it'll take the chicken to a new level! I will definitely be back!

The building is laid back, straight forward and clean. The waffles are, WAFFELS! Thick, soft Belgium waffels with warm syrup and butter. THE CHICKEN reminds me of homestyle fried chicken! I got the white meat combo with three chicken wings, it was awesome and the chicken is some of the best in the city! Thumbs way up!

Simply delicious and deliciously simple. If you're looking for frills, this is not the place. This is pure southern comfort soul food and nothing else. The menu is pretty basic, you can get white meat and a waffle, dark meat and a waffle, or a chicken breast and waffle sandwich with tater tots. In addition, you get butter on your waffle, a side of syrup, and a side of ersatz Raising Cane's dipping sauce. The service was friendly and the atmosphere casual and fun. And the prices are very reasonable. My measuring stick for value is based on how much I can eat. If I can pay under $10 for a meal and a drink, and not be able to finish my meal, that's a good deal in my book. I had a few bites of waffle left and a whole chicken wing that I just could not manage to stuff down my gullet, I see some people are complaining about the waffles being rubbery, but these things are a good one inch thick and a hand across. You want a crispy waffle, toast an Eggo. I'd give it 5 stars except for the following: The batter on the chicken could use a little zest. It doesn't seem to be seasoned at all - not even salt or pepper. I guess if you use the dipping sauce, you won't really notice, but adding a little flavor would make the chicken succulent. They serve unsweet tea, but they don't have any fixin's to go along with it. No sugar substitutes or even lemon. But the drinks are 99 cents and free refills, so, hey...pick your battles.

Waffle as big as my face. Plenty tots. Chicken patty. All for $6. Delicious perfection. Big enough for two whole meals.

The chicken was hot, juicy and crispy and the waffles were perfect. The prices are very reasonable too. If you're in the mood for chicken and waffles, this is your place.

This place is a guilty pleasure for me. I'm glad I don't live within walking distance or I would probably find myself sleep walking here weekly. The chicken is great. It super crispy, just greasy enough and spiced beautifully. The waffles are thick and crispy on the exterior so they hold up well to the syrup/sauce/chicken combination. The service and atmosphere is exactly what you would want and expect. There's no pretention here - and I love it. It's cheap, it's straight forward and it's delicious.

Excellent food. Chicken was awesome and so was the waffle. Reasonable price. Would definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

One of the best chicken and waffle combos I've ever had. I got the "chicken sandwich" which was a boneless chicken breast wedged between two large waffles. It was a rather large portion so I had to get a to go box. My buddy enjoyed the grape koolaid and I enjoyed the southern staple, a glass of sweet tea. We ordered at the register and the nice young lady served us at our table, including refills. The place was clean and had cool memorabilia on the walls. It was very affordable. I've gotten a smaller portion of chicken and waffles in Colorado for twice the price. Highly recommended

All I can say is "WOW" to Willy's Chicken and Waffles! The portions are huge and everything was delicious. Greg, the owner, greeted us when we arrived and then came over to chat and check on us both before and after our food arrived. The chicken was very tasty and cooked just right. Served piping hot. The waffles were huge and fluffy. Loved the dipping sauce and syrup. The tots were cooked very well. Not at all greasy. Quite a bargain for $6.49. My husband and I both took home leftovers. The only constructive criticism I have would be to have silverware instead of plastic for those customers dining in. We will definitely spread the word about Willy's, and we will be back!

Maybe we went on an off night, but our experience was nothing like some of the reviews that I have been reading. We went on a Friday night about 6:30 and we were the only people there besides the two employees. The guy who took the orders at the cash register was friendly enough, but the cook was standing by the register as we placed our orders and he seemed to be getting angry that we were there. He had a horrible scowl on his face, was mumbling under his breath, and he walked to the printer and ripped the tickets off and went to the back. In the kitchen area he started slamming things around and making a lot of noise. Apparently there was not any waffle mix or not enough. He walked behind the the coolers where we could not see him and emerged with a bucket of waffle mix. As he scooped it in the ladle and poured it back in the bucket we could see it was thin like water. He then got the cash register guy back there and they had a whispering huddle around the waffle mix. Cash register guy went and got a whisk and tried stirring it while cook guy went and got a cup of something (flour or waffle mix?) and dumped it in. They stirred and whispered, and picked it up with the ladle and poured it back in, and it still looked about the consistency of water from what we could see. I guess they were done messing with it because then they started making the waffles. They slopped the mixture onto the waffle makers and we could see it splashing out all over the place. When the waffles were done they opened the waffle irons up and the waffles were full of holes (I guess because the mixture was so thin and so much of it splashed out?). They peeled them off and you could clearly see they were totally messed up...they held no shape whatsoever...I have had more solid pancakes and crepes than these waffles. They whispered a bit more, and instead of remaking the waffles and fixing what they knew was messed up, they continued on. We asked for our food to go because the cook's angry demeanor made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome, so we got our food, got in the car and drove to the VooDoo BBQ parking lot and starting eating. As expected, the waffles were horrible. The floppiest things with little pockets of raw waffle mix inside. Apparently they were out of tater tots, but never bothered to tell us, because there was a small pile of soft, wet French fries at the bottom of our boxes (because they put the wet waffles on top of them). The only reason why I am giving this place two stars is because the chicken was delicious. The batter was perfect and it was fried to a perfect crisp. Very similar flavor to Cane's. Their dipping sauce was also similar to Cane's but with more of a kick. It would be better with a little less vinegar, but I still really liked it. I may give this place one more shot just because the chicken was so good. I'm hoping if I go when there are different employees working, I will have a much better experience...one more like the other reviews I've seen.

The waffles are as big as my head and the chicken is dripping liquid gold, I swear If I'm going to die of anything it's going to be from this place and their wonderful chicken.

AWESOME Chicken and Waffles! MAKE WILLY'S YOUR NEXT HOT SPOT! This place has a very simple menu, huge portions, and delicious fried chicken! I suggest to get the Willy-wich. It comes with tater tots and dipping sauce which all really goes together well. I've been here several times since they opened and it is all very consistent. The prices and portions are great and so is their sweet tea and cool-aid. The staff members and owner are all very friendly and helpful. They are all very upbeat and the atmosphere is very fun. Check Willy's out!!!

Kinda disappointed to have driven here only to find them closed. Perhaps they're not actually open Sunday afternoons? Perhaps they decided to close for the super bowl. Either way, no chicken or waffles to be had.

Me and my fiancé went here for the first time last night. The waffles were great! And the chicken was amazing too, the skin was seasoned to perfection. The staff was super nice, too.

Some of the best fried chicken in Baton Rouge. So crisp but the chicken is cooked through without being dry. The prices are reasonable and orders include a drink and free refills! The staff was friendly too. They will also deliver to your tailgate!

After the baseball game tonight I needed to find a quick place to have some dinner and pulled into Willy's for the first time. Sooo glad I did! I ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich, because I thought it would be less food, and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken was so moist and fried with a light crispy crust. The waffles were really light, which made for a great bite to eat. I could only finish a quarter of the sandwich and will have some for breakfast tomorrow - this sandwich is huge! Syrup, butter, and sauce too. I will definitely be back!! Really quick drive through

Tater tots were dope. Fried chicken was dry as rope. More than likely won't go back until they fix this. Got the waffle sandwich by the way.

This place just opened 3 weeks ago and it's delicious! It's a cute place with great staff. The food is cheap and you'll be full all day. It was my first time eating chicken and waffles, and I'm so glad I chose Willy's. Definitely would make this a regular food joint to go back to.

First time at Willys Chicken and Waffles! I have to say that they are pretty good! The waffles are cooked to perfection, and the chicken is very crispy. They give you a special sauce that goes with your chicken and waffles. My recommendation is that you should get #4 the Willy Witch. The staff is very friendly, the price is cheap for what they offer and the service is good :) totally recommend and will come back!

Went today to pick up food for dinner. Excellent service, great comfort food and the decor was just the right amount kitsch. We ordered the Willywich combos and the Lil' Willy and had more than enough food for dinner(and lunch tomorrow). We will definitely be back soon!
